AI Regulation

2h ago
AI-driven pricing disruptions highlight the need for regulatory clarity to ensure recurring revenue stability in software firms.
As of April 20, 2026, no new regulatory developments have emerged since April 19, but social media discussions emphasize AI's disruption to SaaS pricing models, with Salesforce's Headless 360 overhaul shifting to consumption-based pricing to adapt to agentic AI. This trend underscores potential vulnerabilities in recurring revenue certainty for firms like Snowflake and Salesforce, which could be exacerbated by evolving AI regulations on data transparency and governance. Overall, the focus remains on how regulatory frameworks might stabilize or further compress software multiples amid these technological shifts.

The chart makes one point clear. Most software companies are far earlier in their penetration curve than their valuations imply. Even the largest names are still at single-digit penetration of their estimated TAM. ServiceNow, Workday, and Snowflake, despite scale and premium multiples, remain below 10%. That confirms the growth runway exists, but it also shows how much of that future is already priced into today’s valuations.
